I’ve heard some wild advice about fixing ear issues — and most of it creates more fear. Before you ever touch the ears, the horse has to relax to your hand being there. That’s where trust starts. Take your time, watch for the breath, the head lowering, the lick and chew. That’s the conversation. 👉 Got a question you’ve been carrying about your horse? Comment down below, we might help you with it! #NoahTY #HorseTrainingTips #GentleHorsemanship #HorseTrust #GroundworkBasics | Steady Horse

Most people don’t flex their horses enough... When a horse gets fidgety, the old way is to kick, spur, or pull harder. The better way is flexing until they soften and quit moving — that’s where peace lives. Standing still becomes their idea when the release is clear. ▶️ Do you have questions on your mind that need help for your horse training? Good horsemanship lives in the details. This is the kind of feedback I give my students — slowing things down, adjusting positioning, and helping the horse find clarity instead of pressure. When the horse understands, the resistance disappears. 🤔 Have a training question you’d like help with? Leave it in the comments — we’re happy to help where we can. #SteadyHorse #NoahTY #UnbreakableBond #HorseTrainingEducation #GroundworkSkills #HorseConfidence | Steady Horse

Why the stick? 🤔 A lot of folks see a training stick and think whip. But the steady stick isn’t about pain — it’s about clarity and safety. It’s a safe extension of your arm so you can guide your horse without risking a kick or confusion. Every tool can be misused, but in the right hands, it builds trust instead of fear. 👉 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 — 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞? #SteadyHorse #HorseTrainingTips #GroundworkBasics #SafeRidi

Sometimes the most loving thing you can do for your horse… is admit when it’s not a good fit. We had an adopter with a heart of gold, but fear from an old accident was feeding into a reactive horse. Together, we realized—it’s okay to let go. That’s not failure. That’s wisdom. Join us at the Appalachian Trainer Face Off this week till Saturday (Aug 21–23), where Noah will be judging and teaching on how to build unshakable bonds. One of the biggest mistakes I see with anxious horses is rushing the release. It’s just as important how a horse backs out as how they step in. Repetition teaches them that staying calm — not shooting backward — is what actually removes pressure. This is a good first grooming session. Slate starts unsure, then settles, breathes, and stays connected. That relaxation tells us everything we need to know. 👉 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨: https://vist.ly/4js7m 💬 What’s your horse’s biggest grooming hurdle? If your horse only backs under the halter, here’s what you’re missing. Distance backing builds attention and keeps you safe. Some horses need one clear, “big enough” ask rather than a slow, gradual escalation — use the pressure they need, release immediately on the smallest give, then lower the intensity over time. That’s how you go from heavy-handed to light, consistent cues. 💬 Anything horse-related on your mind? Ask me in the comments. 👇 #SteadyHorse #UnbreakableBond #HorseTrainingTips #Sof

When your heart pounds before your foot hits the stirrup… that’s not just nerves. It’s your body warning you that something doesn’t feel safe. It’s not weakness. It’s not overthinking. It’s your nervous system doing its job. This free training shows you how to listen to what fear is telling you—and lead yourself and your horse out of that spiral. 👉 Join us live on Tuesday, August 19 at 11 A.M. Central (9 A.M. PT / 12 P.M. ET). It’s free. | Steady Horse

This horse has never been brushed before. One step at a time matters when safety and trust are on the line. Before I worry about dreadlocks in his tail, I need to know I can groom him without getting kicked or bitten—and that means slowing way down and doing this right. 👉 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 — 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐢𝐨 #SteadyHorse #HorseGrooming #RescueHorse #EquineTrust
