One of the absolute joys of mark/recapture surveys is seeing turtles intermittently through a year, and seeing their growth and how they utilize their habitat. This juvenile (nicknamed “Lil G” by my buddy Caveman Wildlife) has managed some phenomenal growth, despite a fairly major injury to a front foot. He also occupies a large section of stream, using all of it. I can’t wait to recapture this turtle again over the next few years and see it continue growing! #turtles #animals #conservation #wil
